Thats quite a collection you have listed there, Bobby. My "mostly" '85 Ironhead has tank badges off a RK, I've not seen any since I likes any better... We traded for a RoadKing here at work the other day and I've been reminding myself that I just got the title handled on the '52 and I need to get it rolling...Dang, time and money
yup, and you never have both of them at the same time or place.
Things just kind of stack up....lol. My 1967 Jeepster Commando isn't on the list. Right now I'm trying to get rid of the 59 Dodge truck. Something has to go since I made a deal and brought home a 77 F-250 last week....oops.
Gil, Jake, thanks ! Very kind welcome of y'all, I'm glad to be here. I'm afraid my project isnt quite as extensive as some { "Earl" for example, absolutely fantastic} I'm just bringing mine back to life to use as a truck. I think the Ford flathead V8 just couldnt be any cooler, definately deserving of the "greatest motors of the twentieth century" title. Nothing sounds like a flathead, could not be any simpler in comparison to what I deal with daily at my job. Big part of the appeal to me.
Speaking of small worlds, my little sister lives in Ventana Ranch. As far as thinning the herd, I could see losing a *shudder* Dodge, but not the RK or the Falcon or the pickups...A man -has- to have his standards.
That is a small world. I'm not too far from Ventana Ranch
Trust me, the Road King isn't going any time soon. I been dreaming about a big Harley road bike since I was about 6 or 7. I've always had bikes but the Harleys were always out of reach of my checkbook. I bought this 94 Road King 2 years ago. At that time the bike had 5200 miles on it. I got a great deal and I love it. I'm sitting at 11,000 miles right now.
The 65 Falcon is my wife's daily driver. Its a little 2dr sedan with a 170ci and C4 auto. Its a fun little car. the 67 Jeepster will be my sons caar, he's just got his driver's license and is rarin' to go.
I agree, Dennis, thanks! My late father-in-law started a 51 F1 on a '84 Bronco frame, never got very far with it before he died. Part of my reason for picking this model was his previous interest in it. And I'd like to see about getting the seat or the guages or something that -was- his on mine. Something I can point to whenever one of his grandkids goes for a ride w/ me.
small world definitely. my brother lives in rio rancho, n.m. unfortunatley, he got laid off in april from Intel and hasn't had much luck finding anything for a "good job"(if there is such a thing).
yea, the Intel thing has been nuts. Its always a crazy cycle, they'll ramp up and hire people like crazy, then slow down and have huge lay-offs. At the same time they'll go through big spurts of construction followed by downsizing. its boom or bust with Intel people and all the construction subcontractors. I have several friends, both Intel and contractors that have had a wild couple of years.
Hey Man, welcome to the best little Ford House in the world, hey is the Brass Apple still open, used to eat there 2 times a week when I ran from Cincinnati to LA every week when I drove for GE Aircraft, retired now and love these old buck toothed fords, have a 51, in avatar, finished and am building a 52 coe wrecker RAT ROD.You'll like it here, later Garry.

Bobby
Hey Bobby,
Just curious, what do you get for gas mileage with the little 170 Falcon? I've always thought it would be cool having a 64-5 Ranchero just for putting and running errands to Home Depot, or anytime one needs to haul something bigger than the trunk of a car, but not so big as to need the F-250/460/8mpg. Equipped with a 170 and a T5 five speed, tuned right and not driven stupid, I figure it should get 25-30 mpg. And a lot classier than driving a Toyota. (Not that there's anything wrong with that. lol)
You've hit the nail on the head. I haven't calculated it exaclty but it gets over 25 MPG. The little 170 runs great. It's perfect for running around town, you can keep up with traffic just fine, you do havae to plan ahead for a long hill but not too bad. A manaul tranny would fix alot of that.
Its amazing how much attention the car gets. You can pull into a gas station next to Corvettes or other fancy cars and people will flock over to the Falcon. Everyone has a story about how they learned to drive in one, or drove one in college, or their aunt had one, etc.
Here's a pic of my truck and the Falcon;
