I've had a slight leak for a while now that seems to be getting worse lately. I already have all the parts to replace the gaskets and the O-rings in the turbo, but I can still build good boost (though not quite as good as it used to be) so I'm wondering if I should just hold out or go ahead and dive in... thoughts?
It may buy you a little time, changing the donuts. If you plan on doing the bellowed up pipes later, this will give you good experience on taking the turbo and up pipes off.
Chase, just get your hands dirty for once and git r dun!!!! Damn!!!
STFU soldier boy!
Roland and Rick- I don't have the option of bellowed pipes on with my stock turbo, the late model bellows won't fit with my early bird turbo and I can't swing a turbo conversion right now.

Thats right Chase, I forgot you came to the party a little too early. You got the early bird.
You may want to consider replacing the pipes with new ones. I haven't priced them out though. My old gaskets had worn grooves into the pipes. I used over sized gaskets with lots of anti-seize but they are leaking very few miles later ( i just did this last winter). I suspect the grooves ate up the new gaskets. Considering this, and what everyone else says about to durability the repair, and you don't have the option of doing the bellows easily/cheaply, you'll get longer life out of it esp if yours are grooved up.
Honestly, my opinion is hold off if it isn't that bad. If it was so bad you couldn't build any boost then it would be worth patching up. Mine aren't that bad again (yet), but I can hear it and smell a little when the EBPV is closed in the AM. I won't replace the gaskets again without either new pipes or bellowed pipes, not worth the trouble.
