I am interested in what folks say about the controller.. I use my TC manual button a lot when towing/pulling. I wish the tc locked up sooner on its own..

When my TC died a couple summers ago. Well didn't die. Just rattled. I asked about different TC's. The impression i got was to not dump an expensive TC in a stock Tranny. If the tranny goes it will kill the new expensive tc. I have been running the Ford TC now for a couple years. Pulling the 5th wheel and all, with no problems.

I didn't answer your question, i know, but here is a bump for yea.

I'm currently running a triple clutch TC in my truck and I love it. Of course my entire transmission was rebuilt about a week ago, so my truck is a totally different beast. Never hear of that one on ebay, mine is from BD Diesel.

I have the stallion in mine. You will need different tuning to adjust for it. Otherwise it will shift extremely harsh. Also, (heres my hindsight) if you can get it from a dealer, who will work with you, you can get it set up appropriately for your truck. I found out after talking to one of the guys at precision industries, you can have them adjust it for your trucks specs. (IE mine weighs 9,000 pounds, and makes about 700 ft/lbs of torque currently) And they can adjust its unlocked grab for that. Just like if your motor made 1300 ft/lbs of torque, (about 650hp with our motor) and your truck weighed about 7k. You would want it to grab differently while unlocked . If the dealer will not work with you, and only wants to sell the stock unit on the shelf, you may be better off buying directly from precision industries.

Also, with GOOD tranny tuning, you will not ever need to lock your t/c manually. Jody's 80tow is my absolute favorite. And while I have a manual t/q lock switch, I NEVER use it, and I used to, before I got his updated tuning. Major tranny changes.

Might just go for the JW VB and the DP tuner. I really dont like the way my TC locks. So I was thinking a new and better TC but understand completely what Dan is saying about a new TC in an old tranny. Also if I bought one of these TC's here I would pay three times that amount. Effies over here are quite rare so when you do go to buy something for it they rob you blind. All my mods and parts come form Clay.
