Performance Chip Advice

Hey Everyone,
The local diesel shop has recommended a PPE Enforcer Chip for my truck. I would like some advice on this chip as well as the difference between TS Performance's product. The truck has 287K, original trans. I will not be towing the equipment, just looking for better mpg and performance. Thanks.

lol last time i checked PPE was strickely for duramax's?? if so, then i hate that shop lol, go online and look up, DP tuner, Tony wildman, powerhungryperformance. thoes are deffinetly the top 3 for these OBS trucks, yes other tuners and chips will work, will they perform as well? dont even count on it. these tuners i mentioned above specialize in custom files and pass on the great tunes to us. its a whole new truck wwith a set of tunes from them. Every now and then we get a new thread on here saying how much they hate there diablo tuner or what ever the other low level tuners out there because there mileage is terrible or not shifting right and what not. with a set of tunes from the above mentioned, you will notice, better/easier starting, gain in mileage, little more smoke with stock injectors, and a train like pull down low to up top!

as for your tranny, thats kind of a mile marker for the tranny if it is stock/original, a set of tunes is 100hp and close to 200lbs of torque. you may see a tranny rebuild in your near future depending on how well the tranny was or wasnt taken care of and your driving style. if you floor it at eery stoplight and it sees constant heat, you might as well start saving your pennys.

The best chips for these trucks are either Tony Wild, Power Hungry Performance, or DP Tuner nothing else seems to do nearly as well. These ones are the nest bang for you buck by far, often times the same price or cheaper than the ones you get elsewhere and are custom made to your truck. Whatever you do DO NOT USE EDGE PRODUCTS ON YOUR TRUCK unless you want more problems. They cause more problems than anything.

Our phones are ringing off the hook -- what a blessing! If you would like to speak with us and have trouble getting through, feel free to drop me a PM with your phone number, and we'll be happy to call you back (probably in the evening when the phones slow down...).

Chip Advice

Thanks for all the advice. I agree that it would best to stick with of the site products. I will contacting PHP this afternoon. As far as the tranny I know that it will be something that will occur, just hopefully not too soon. Since I began restoring it, I have added a 4" lift, straight pipe, new windshield, over cab lights (the only thing I attempted myself). Next hopefully will be the chip and the captain seats. By the way, when I had the lift done, I made sure that all of the fittings were had grease fittings. When I went through the records, it shows that the ball joints had been replaced several times as were the cam position sensor, which I did get Ford to do although they did not agree to reimbursement b/c I did not have the original receipts. Oh and the wiring harness and valve cover gaskets. Hope to get some picks up soon.

i would definitely talk to them all. talk to Matt, Tony, PHP, DP-Tuner, beans, swamps, etc. they all tune well. i have personally met and talked to Tony Wildman. top notch guy! i was thinking about changing to either Matts tunes or swamps for a little while til i met Tony at the last drag race. haha. Upon meeting him and talking to him a bit i will keep his tuning til i have reason to believe i will gain something from changing to another tuner and tony can't do what i need done. i love my TW tunes
