The truck has been running great for so long, I guess it was due. I was headed to work at 5:30 this morning, then while running 45 mph, the darn thing just cut off. No CEL, No alarms no nothing. Then I tried to crank it and it would run for a second and die. Then it would run at really high rpms, then as soon as I let of throttle, it would die again. Then it went 30 minutes of not even running, just turning over. Its not out of Fuel, no water in the filter, plenty of oil, and the batteries are brand new. So I believe it is the TPS. I have been fallowing this forum for some time, but havent had any questions to ask, because they were already asked. I tried to search this and it didnt want to search anything with my computer, so if one of you Truck gurus could chime in I would greatly appreciate it. I just dont have any other ideas off the top of my head why this would happen. Hell I think that is the only thing that I haven't had to replace. Thanks guys for all of your help.
See, thats why you guys are the professionals, I ment cps, I just had that throttle positions sensor on my brian because of my girlfriends explorer. I have a CPS I purchased, I believe a year or two ago, when they went down to like 18 dollars for some recall reason. This one should work right? I remeber the guys on here saying to buy a couple and always have one as a back up. I hope that one will work. Let me know if you guys think I should buy one of the new ones instead. Yet again, this site has saved me money.
