I have a '99 Expedition with about $41K that I was driving this weekend and I was hearing a bit of a low hum coming from the front of the vehicle when braking so I took it in to get it serviced.
I was told the rears are at 5/16 the front left is 0/16 and front right is at 4/16.
It was suggested I get new brakes in the front and new calipers to try to distribute the wear a little more evenly. Does that seem to make sense that I would need new calipers?
Yeah, watch your a$$ when it comes to brake work. I took my Bronco to a shop a number of years ago and they told me my wheel cylinders were leaking (showed me wetness around the inside of the drum) and that all my brakes were shot. Well the vehicle only had around 30,000 miles so I took it to the Ford dealership. They checked out everything and all was fine...plus no leaking wheel cylinders. I think the original guys tried to pull a fast one with a little can of oil or something.
