6 piston calipers for a front dana 60

I was wondering if anybody makes a 6 piston caliper for a stock sized rotor and wheel on a front dana 60. I think it would be cool to improve the brakes by upgrading to a larger rotor and 6 piston caliper. However, I do not believe I can upgrade the size of the rotor with 16" wheels so I thought why not upgrade the caliper while using the stock rotor. does anybody know what size the rotors are on a 78-79 F-250? And can you use a higher performance brake caliper with the stock rotors? Who sells the calipers? I will probably end up getting slotted/drilled rotors with high performance brake pads for it.

If you live here in WA, don't get the drilled rotors; they hold water as you are going down the road and when you hit the brakes, it takes a second to burn off all of the water before the braking really begins to occur. This is from personal experience up here in wet-WA. I'll never go back to drilled rotors, though I may consider a mildly slotted one, just to see ifthey have the same problems...

Hey highboy, Did you ever get an answer for your question about 6 piston calipers for your truck? I have thought about the same thing for my f-250

No, I never did. I figure I will have to talk to one of the aftermarket reps about this particular application. I have found that SSBC carries a 3-piston and 4-piston caliper that appear to work for our trucks. I figure I will run either the 3 or 4 piston calipers with slotted rotors all the way around. I have looked into Willwood, SSBC, and Brembo brakes but it appears that SSBC would work the best for this application. If anyone knows where I can obtain 6 piston calipers for this project I would love the information. Any comments on high performance brakes in general would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry you haven't found anything. If I find any info I'll pass it along to you. I was wondering about the later model F-250's. I'm sure the rotors would be bigger and the calipers more powerful. Also the springs, are they the same length and width.

I am not sure what your referring to. If you are talking about leaf springs I believe the early dana axles used 2.5" springs and the later models used 3".
