SO TODAY I REMOVED THE HID HEADLIGHT SYSTEM,,THE WHOLE THING..LENSES, BALASTS AND ALL. SWITCHING IT BACK TO JUST REGULAR HOLAGEN SEALED BEAMS. DON'T DRIVE MUCH AFTER DARK ANYWAY...EASY TO REMOVE AS THEY WERE JUST DIRECT PLUG AND GO SETUPS. NO WIRES HAD BEEN CHANGED FROM THE ORIGINAL. FOUND THAT TO REALLY GET THE MOST OUT OF HID'S YOU NEED TO HAVE A HIGH OUTPUT ALTERNATOR AND A GOOD RELAY AS WELL.( FOUND THAT OUT FROM MY SON WHO IS A BMW MECHANIC) MIGHT USE THE SILVERLIGHT REPLACEMENTS...HAVEN'T BEEN TO WALMART YET. OLD LIGHTS ON THE WAY TO CRAIGSLIST. WAS REALLY GLAD NO WIRING HAD TO BE CHANGED..MAD FOR AN EASY SWITCH BACK TO ORIGINAL. I LIKE IT.
have to be careful with the electrical stuff..for the running lights i would just run directly to the battery..can get an inexpensive relay with a fuse...then you don't have to worry about damage to any other systems. also i saw today on craigslist sacramento someone had a dana rearend and i believe a real axle as well..might check it out. have a great day joe
i need the front end erg it like a needle in a hay stack and when i find one like 1000 1500 just for the axle i post some pick it like pocket knife and light bad
Me too, thats why i'm switching back. HID ( high intensidy discharge) lights like in bmw and other eruopean cars. very bright but require a lot of power to egnightthe zenon gas in the bulb...kind of like a flourecent light but more concentrated. but i don't want to spend the money on a high output alternator and the necesssary relays to make it work right. as well as the light switch itself..easier to just replace with regular hologans. thanks for the post mike...have a great week..marty
sorry man...wish i would have known..don't know if they would have fit..they were for 7 inch round single lights. my truck is a 73. just didn't want to have to do the upgrades needed to run them correctly. like high output alternator, relay and probobly a new switch. stock lights are just fine. don't drive it alot at night anyway. check my pics when you can..ola...marty
