i have an oil leak on the top of my 2002 f-250 7.3 filling up the wells and flowing over at first this was a very minor leak but now has degraded into a problem any idea of where it could be coming from? I noted oil on and around the sensor on the front lhd side i have a hard time believing that this is the root cause. Any suggestions?
There are many places the leak can be coming from.
You need to get as much stuff out of the way as possible and clean the engine valley. Use a screwdriver and paper towels to soak it up. You can also lift the front of the vehicle as high as possible and flood the valley with a degreaser and water, most of it will run out of the back of the valley onto the ground. Dry up the remaining water. Get a good light, fire it up and look for the source.
It could be diesel too unless you're absolutely sure it's just oil.
