Has anyone had any experience with the Firestone Transforce A/T tires? I have a regular cab 1995 f-350 powerstroke that I plow snow with but it is also my daily driver and I need to put new tires on it. I was also looking at the Michelin LTX M/S 2. If any of you have these tires could you please share your experience.
I don't know about the Firestone or what the Michelin LTX MS 2 is, but the Michelin LTX MS is a good tire that has good all season traction and lasts quite a while.
I don't have experience with either of those but the best I've come across for snow is the Cooper Discoverer ATR. I put a set on my wifes Expedition and was amazed at how well they held on snow and ice. It virtually eliminated the need to engage the 4wd during the Iowa winters.
from what i have heard from a buddy with them on his ranger, they are suprisingly noisy on the road. as far as michelin goes, check out the LTX AT2's. IMO, thats one of michelins best tires out rite now. i personally have BFG TA/KO's on my truck and couldnt be happier. super quiet on the road, and man these things grip! i cant even spin the tires unless the streets have standing water on them. as far as snow they are rated for excellent snow and ice traction(hopefully i get to try out soon), and to top it off, they look dang good on these trucks.
I know a bunch of people that have the firestone transforcers on their trucks. The Superduty guys said they liked their BFG Rugged trails better for traction.
My friend w a chevy 2500 that swore BY BFG all terrains(said he would never by anything else), Loves the wear of the transforcers over the BFG and they were over 50 a piece cheaper
As far as the Michelin AXT a/t i had a set on my 96 f350. THEY SUCKED!!! I would get stuck on a wet lawn,a flat wet lawn had to use 4wd to get out . Im not sure if they were regular Michelins or Like a Sams club, sears, or wally word michelin
What is it your wanting from the tire's and what kind of abuse are you subjecting them to.
Tires are definitely a personal choice and only you can decide what's right for you.
