SP Diesel Chip
Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone had used an SP diesel chip? I know that DP Tuner, Tony Wildman, and PHP are the best tuners for our trucks and I have a TS off the shelf right now, but I was just curious as if anyone has actually used this chip. They're advertised gains seem pretty reasonable and they show a good looking product. One of the most interesting things about they're chip was that they include a digital HPOP guage on their display. I thought that was interesting, and they claim to be made in the USA. Even the OBS chips only claimed an extra 60 horse or so. The box itself seems similar to a TST or something. I'm not sure where they plug in so I'm assuming it's just the ECU? Anyways, here is the web address. Just kinda wondering. They are too pricey just to try for fun but I thought it was interesting.

I went to their website as I have never heard of them before. They do a comparison of different chips/programmers on their website, but they don't compare the ones mentioned and appreciated by folks on here. I'm not saying it's a bad system, I'm just saying they do not compare DP Tuner, Power Hungary Performance, Tony Wildman, or Swamps. These are the popular ones around here. These 4 all offer the stuff that SP offers as far as an economy mode, different tow modes, various race or smoke tunes, high idle settings. I will admit, gauges are separate with these 4 tuners. BTW, the only way to take full advantage of the 140 setting on any of the chips/programmers, you will need larger injectors and likely a bigger turbo. Keep that in mind too.

They also mention stacking their chip with other chips for even more performance. I will admit that I don't understand exactly what they mean. I have heard of it being done, and there is a way to do that and get some benefits out of it I suppose. But a year ago I ran into a guy that said he had 3 chips stacked on top of each other and claimed to be running over 700hp. He never had it on a dyno he said. I asked him how much other stuff he did to the truck. I was expecting to hear he had hybrids, a large turbo, and perhaps some nitrous injection. He said the truck was all stock except for the chips and straight pipe exhaust. You will not get any thing close to 700hp on tuning alone.

Meh i wouldnt try them.. they look legit but there making there tunes look better, first thing i noticed was that they said no other tuner had a econo mode LOL i have a fantastic one. i bet i can get a better deal for you on a ts with tunes from TW DP PHP beans and one of his own. contact jim( 3starJ.R) over at powerstrokenation . com say steve(rideracelivemx7) sent you, i got a 6pos chip with all the tunes for 350$ or he has a ts 4 pos for 250$, its a variety of the major name tunes and my truck just runs,shifts starts and pulls awsome.
