help transmission problem

help transmission problem
any help would be appreciated, thanks.
1995 f350 5.8l auto trans
i started my truck up and when i put it in reverse it wouldnt move.
i got on the gas a little bit and then it jerked and backed up, clunking the whole time. it goes in drive just fine but it kinda makes weird noises in park and neutral. any ideas of what is wrong? thanks

thanks for the info, i will give some of that a try. I am just wondering if i need a whole new transmission before i go and change the oil and filter..ect.. Now, when it is in park or neutral it clanks and shakes the whole truck.
