Wheel and mirror help needed

I want to buy some new wheels for my '79 F-100. The tires on it now are 31X10.50 R15 LT 1090 M+S, mounted on the stock rims. The guy that mounted them said they really should be on wider wheels, so what size wheels should they be on? The axles are standard 31-spline Fords. What is the bolt pattern? What size lugnuts?

I got a new windshield and the shop didn't remount the rear view mirror. Where on the windshield does the rear-view mirror mount (factory placement)? It's the mirror that came with the truck.

The bolt patern is 5 X 5 1/2, the wheel studs are 1/2" and the lug nuts are 13/16" hex.
Can't help with the dimensions for the mirror though, I could use them myself.

Go to a local glass shop, more than likely they will put the mount and mirror on for you. I know the local glass shops around here advertise this service for free.

I know my truck was at the shop one time, and they were there and mine had fallen off, the guy joyfully volunteered to put it back on free of charge, and that was about eight years ago, and it is still attached.

Could someone please get out their measuring tape?

The issue is not the act of attaching the mirror, I can do that just fine. The issue is I don't know WHERE to glue the mirror mount. Would anyone of you that owns a 73-79 with a windshield-mounted rearview mirror go measure yours and let me know how far down from top of the windshield and how far over from the edge of the driver's side the mirror base is?
