wont shut off??
bought it for 100$ off a guy who says he
"pulled into a gas station, couldn't shut the van off, so drove home and let it run out of gas."
he then disconnected the battery to turn off the lights.
I am thinking it is the ignition cylinder- key gives no resistance when turned, and maybe some blown fuses due to the battery disconnection.
any ideas?
its a 150. 8 cylinder EFI 5.0L- still don't know what trans it is
guy says he already tried replacing the ignition switch, and the starter solenoid he definitely replaced because it is brand new.
maybe he installed it incorrectly, but if they are both fine what else would keep the lights on permanently? even with the key out and the ignition off?
the ignition module?
the ignition switch?
wont know for sure till i get to the dmv later today.
i still have no dash lights, rear running lights, front running iights, or horn
also, all tires are flat, and the breaks feel spongy-
it will take some work to get it on te road- but no rust or leaks and engine sounds smooth.
