Speedometer Calibration ?
My 89 Clubwagons' speedometer is appx 7 mph off the actual (measured) speed. Using a GPS unit, I measured my actual speed on the freeway at 70mph while the instrument speedo indicated 63 mph. Can this be calibrated to be more accurate ? If so, how can an armchair mechanic do it ? Or am I better off taking it in to a real mechanic ? BTW, the tires are 16 inch (factory recommended size).

Just take out the one you have, count the teeth, note the color, and order a replacement (less teeth) off E-Bay or go to your local Ford dealer.
It will be at the end of the speedometer cable, rear, driver's side of the transmission. Undo one bolt, remove fork retainer, pull out the cable.
