Vacuum issues
I worked at the vacuum lines on the 5.0 SD for my '50 yesterday. I've ran the vacuum from intake manifold vacuum at fron of engine and "T'd" the line back to vacuum port at rear and to the brake booster . I have the MAP connected to a vacuum port at rear and originally "T'd" to the EGR, which at first brought the idle down but then would stalll engine. I've removed the TAB & TAD and air pump. The EGR valve is still in place and I've caped the port where vacuum went. At first the truck idled smoothly but then went back up to high idle. I guess I'm going to have to take the intake manifold over this winter and trace all the lines.
If any body has suggestions , they would be welcome.

I had a very similar problem but with a carborated engine. I had forgotten to install a plug in the carb adaptor. I'd check to make sure everything is sealed up and installed in the correct flow direction.
