Propane?

The alt fuel / LP thread seems lifeless, so I'll ask here...

does anyone use LP with diesel and if so, how big of a tank would I need for long hauls?

Thanks & Happy t-day!

Well, there have been successful conversions of buses with diesels to run on propane.

The word is... super clean burning... nearly perfectly clean oil and engine.

Bad news, propane and butane roughly has 1/3 less energy density (in liquid form) than diesel.

So, all things equal, expect some pretty big tanks to get equivalent range.

Whats more, those auto grade propane tanks are expensive.
