carb

so i put an 85 351w motor with a two barrel motorcraft carb in an 86 f-250. my 86 has no smog stuff at all, it had a four barrel edlebrock. i didnt feel like switching the intakes. what im wondering is all I really need is the brake vacume the distibutor advance and pvc, i think. I should be able to just plug everything else off and it should run fine. has anyone run in to this. I have a hanes book course it shows no picture of the carb steup. im also wondering if i would be better off putting the four barrel intake on and the edlebrock back on.

You would be better off putting the edelbrock and the 4 bbl manifold back on it. The 2bbl you have is calibrated to run with all that stuff hooked up. It will run without it, but nothing like the edelbrock will run.

Don't forget the vacuum tree on the firewall, which usually has the HVAC vacuum line and the tranny vacuum line, depending on what type tranny you have(c6). If you have cruise control, it usually needs a hook up too.
