First, Happy Thanksgiving! Second, I just threw a P0308, miss in 8 cyl., code. Also, there's a strong smell of rotten eggs.
Is there a connecting with the code and the cat. converter?
Is it O.K. to drive 18-20 miles to have the dealer repair under warranty?

i would say yes it is ok to drive, but if the engine light starts to flash stop and have it towed. a flashing engine light means a catylist damaging missfire

 

I had that code pop up on my truck a little over a year ago. It was a #8 injector. It just ran poorly until I replaced it. Where did you find your mirrors?

 

The rotten egg smell is the catalytic converter trying to burn up the raw fuel from the cylinder #8 misfire.

Yes, it'll be OK to drive to get serviced, but don't put it off or you will damage severely or shorten the life of your catalytic converter. You also might want to call the dealership and ask if they will provide a free tow.

 

Thank you to all, I'll call them and see if they'll tow it. The mirrors are OEM Ford mirrors for the F650/750 line. I got them from eBay for $60! Good deal!
