Sorry

Guys,
I am very sorry about the whole drinking and driving stuff, it is insensitive and not appropriate. In addition as a new member of this fraternity, I do not want to start off on a bad note. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. I will be posting pictures of my truck in the am. Take care.

this is the easiest way.

i did all 5 of mine evenly spaced cuz that's what i like- that's just personal preference though. there's no reason not to go three in the middle and two further out iffin you don't mind that's how chevy does it.

i used my sister's dodge to get approximate measurements for the placement and then marked it on my truck and set all the light up there to make sure i liked it. then i re-measured about a half dozen times before i started drilling! i can measure in a little while...gotta go out and measure a horse for a blanket anyway.

i used a pacer kit and it came with a separate switch that you were supposed to connect all the positives to, but i just used a butt connector to splice right into the brown wire under the pass. kick panel and they come on with my headlights. oh yes and clear silicone around the edges to help prevent leaks (i've never had a problem)

the one thing i might do differently if i did it over would be to set the lights further back from the windshield to make it easier to fish the (SHORT!) wires out from between the double roof of the cab. that was a royal pain and i have smaller hands than most of yall! there is still a pencil somewhere in there that i lost hold of in the process and never could find...

It seems that right now, I have a continues source of power from the battery to the switch and thus it will eventually drain the battery. Ok, laugh all you want but when I take out the #4 fuse, the headlights still work, so what is up?

Now that you have cab lights if you ever have water dripping from just above the top of your windshield after it rains its the cab light that are leaking not the wind shield.

Got ya

Yeah, the drip thing was not too pleasant. But I did use silicone, used some food coloring with a power washer to make sure that this time everything was H2O tight. By the way I have reviewed the post regarding changing the stock bench seat out with Captain Chairs. Could someone recommend a site that sells reconditioned seats, or am I better off calling around the local junk yards? In addition, is there a place in the Raleigh/ Durham NC area that power stroke owners get together and so stuff, like toy runs and such. With the economy as bad as it is, perhaps doing a little charity for those less fortunate would be in order. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.

If you want the factory setup on these trucks they are 8" from the front edge of the light to the edge of the windshield chrome piece, then they spaced 12" apart on centers. So measure your cab across the top find the center and then 12" from mark to mark then put the center of you lights on those marks then a trick I used is when you take the headliner down then front piece of it is metal and has the same curve as the windshield and top of the cab you can use that as a template for the curve. set it on top and meseure the distance at both ends from the front edge and that till give you you forward spacing then the side to side spacing is all that nessasary. Also if you want the traditional spacing rather than the factory even spacing take the number 2 and 4 lights and move them inward 2".
