IMO it makes just as much difference as doing the foil delete. I didn't notice any difference in doing either, but I guess getting fresh air around the filter don't hurt. Mine doesn't blow on the filter, it is pointed to the neck of the filter. But it was fun to do.
Yes! I was skeptical until I installed the AIS Ford filter. The filter restriction indicator that comes with the AIS would come up 2/3 of the way from the top whenever I would floor it.
I have a modified zoodad, a series of 1 1/2" holes, not a full opening but since I opened up the front of the intake, the restriction sensor barely moves off the bottom of the indicator.
I have the AIS setup so it made sense to me to cut away at the snorkel inlet in the grill. I can put my hand up to the grill with the engine just idling and can feel a slight draft of air being pulled in. I have had no problems with snow, ice or anything else getting in there as well.

That proved it to me.
This is exactly my experience.....especially when the DP Tuner was installed.
