I am in need of new brake rotors. Any brands to consider? Also the differance between Blisteins and RS9000 shocks? Which is better?
Mine is a 2001, X is stock, 4wd,7.3L, 150k and used to tow alot. Live up in Northern California and it snows and lots of turns in the mountains.

I'm about to do the same thing. I've been checking out the drilled rotor kits on ebay for $300 with pads. Not sure how well they hold up, but I don't want to pay 3k for a big brake conversion kit either. Subscribing to the thread for more info.

Cryo treat rotors will last the longest and drilled or slotted rotors seems to be a personal preference thing.
I used the Napa Ultra Premium rotors up front and Premiums on the rear along with Hawk LTS pads. While you can pay more you don't always get a better part in the process. The most important thing is to get a good quality set of rotors and get good pads. Right after you do the install you need to ensure you bed the pads in well to get good material transfer to the rotor. The majority of the time you wont have an actual warped rotor and it's most likely inconsistent material transfer from not bedding them in properly. If you think you have warped rotors - measure the lateral runout to make sure and replace if it's beyond spec.
I've had Powerslot cryo treated rotors and Hawk LTS pads on my Excursion for 3 years now and love 'em.
I bought the cryo'd rotors to combat the brake shimmy (warped feeling) of the OEM rotors that no amount of turning can permanently get rid of.

I strongly endorse the Powerslot cryos and Hawk LTS pads. They seem to be the running favorite on this site; I bought mine based on what I read on here; I'm very happy with them and add my recommendation.
I don't have experience with the Bilsteins, but just finished my install of the RS9000s. Bilsteins have a great rep, and I would have picked them, but I decided on the RS9000s for the adjustability. So far I've been very pleased!
