48-52 Vent Window Assembly
Hey all,
I really need to find a set of vent window assemblies for my 51 F-1. I have all the parts that I need to finish this truck in less than 2 weeks but I cant find these. I know I can go with a 1 piece glass but I already ordered my glass and I like the vents in there. I need the entire assembly, including both frames, springs, etc. If any one has some or knows where I can get a set please let me know.

I found mine on ebay awhile back. Sometimes you get lucky and can find a deal, I think I paid $60 plus shipping for my pair but other times I'v e seen them go for $150+.
Murphy's Law states that since you are in a hurry for them you are only going to find the really pricey ones

You will probably going to be hard pressed to find a good set of those right off the bat. If Ilya has some, he's probably your sole source at the moment.
A set pops up on e-bay about every six months but you won't have any assurances the tracks on those are not rusted out.
Also note that the 48-50 and 51/52 wings are slightly different. The latch on the 51/52 has a locking button. New latches for either are available, and they are interchangeable on the windows if you can drill out two rivets and reflatten two new ones.
I have a new set I just had rechromed and have been contacted by four other members about buying my "old" ones, which are is very good condition. Unfortunetly I've been promising to swap them out for two years now and still haven't gotten to it - sorry guys!

Just FYI, I paid $175 for the duplicate pair in good rechromable condition and the rechroming cost me $250 for the pair.

To find the best deals on ebay you need to get creative in your searches. The best deals are on items that aren't described very well or listed in a goofy place so that they don't come up on a regular searches and don't get very much traffic.

If you don't win these, contact 51 PanelMan again - somethng tells me he may find a set here fairly shortly and they may be available around the 20th of this month!
Purely speculation though mind you!
