Not sure about the low range light, but a flashing O/D light means the PCM thinks there is something wrong with the transmission. There is a transmission trouble code stored in the PCM's memory.

Unfortunately you can't read transmission codes with most scanners. You'll likely have to take it to a Ford dealer to get the codes read and interpreted.

wonder if autozone could read that code? Don't suppose since it has to do with the tranny..but worth a shot?

I don't know about the low range light but I had the O/D light blinking and Ford told me to service the transmission, I did and everything was ok. When I took off the transmisison oil pan it had never been serviced since it was installed. Found the filter was so dirty it was starving the pump and causing cavitation. You might try that first.

Thanks,

Firemech.

Probably not but it wouldn't hurt to try. I know it wont work on the 7.3 engines since they weren't OBDII compliant. Maybe somebody near you has an AE scanner or something similar. Those will pull the codes.

The OD light means the PCM has detected something with the transmission, but with the 4x4 and low range lights, that's all a big bunch of weird.

Any water on the passenger-side floor? Meaning water in the GEM connectors?

Either that, or you have a pinched wiriing harness between the cab and the frame. I found my wiring harness was pinched like that when the truck was new. Glad I found it early.
