Seat Pics

Does anyone have any good pics of a original seat that would go into my 66 F-100? I'm wanting to get it recovered but I'm pretty sure its not even the original. To top it off the spring bed is gone and there is just a piece of sheet metal under there under the foam. The seating position is way too high. Something needs to be done but I need to know what I'm starting with.

Pictures of the bare frame and mounts would probably provide the most help.

A quality uphostery shop can replace the springs, padding, etc., and restore the seats. If looking for original uphostery look understand SMS uphostery is a good source. If not certain about what yrs. seats you have; the 65-66 seats are same and narrower than the 67 and later model seats, believe to at least the mid 90's. Don't have the measure'mt for 65-66 but should be able to compare width to later Ford truck. Also, seat trac's same from 65-72. Originally replaced the seats in my 65 with 68 Ford pickup but found the seat too firm and set too high. Ended up using combination of bottoms portion of 68 bench minus padding, springs and fabric. Placed the back section of 87 Lariat seats onto the 68 bottom bench frame, removed the head rest sheet metal so the seat would set even with bottom of rear window, then took Lariat contoured cover with padding, from the bottom section, was not sure if uphostery shop would need it for the pattern, and took everything to a quality shop where they rebuilt it for around $250.

Check this web site out.....Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market. Its a search engine for used parts around the counrty. I bought a real nice seat for my 64 from searching through here. Got it for $100 and it was even redone! Also theres a few online stores that will sell you a do it yourself upolstery kit for a decent price. Theres no sewing involved and everything is included. Good luck.
