argh ok, a couple runs through the 1000+ photos I have and I can't find it. I thought it was a '55, professionally shot, something you'd see on Classic Trucks. com or something (but couldn't find it there). I'll keep looking though.
Granted, the cab they're using is a 56, but the back part is the same. It would look just like the 56, but with a slanted-back windshield post. My only hope would be, after doing all that grafting, that the window actually fits in the hole. ;-)
If you where that worried about the glass fitting, you could always buy an extra rubber seal, put the glass in the kit, protect the crap out of it, and then weld in the kit, or at least tach or something.
You'd need some leather to protect the glass or you'd risk pieces of slag melting into it...
this is one of the body mods I am planning on doing. I was telling a friend about it this past summer and he brought over Street Trucks Oct 08 Vol 10 No 10 and on page 70 they are cutting apart project fast lane for a big window conversion. Much like the article above, this is being done on a 56 f100 but I cant imagine the process is a lot different.
Looks like they drill out some of the spot welds and pull the rear wall of the cab away from the support and then slide the big window panel in place behind it then reweld it all back in place like the above article. So it looks like there are some process differences between the two magazines but not a lot.
Go to youtube.com and do a search for f100 supernationals and a couple videos pop up. I think it was in the 2009 video but maybe the 2008 video there is a slant cab with a big window drivning around.

here's the link...look for the silver truck side view. At about 2:15 into the video.
Go to Mike Chesser's Auto Emporium - Lawrenceville, GA. He has the kit for 53-55 and one for 56. It seems the only difference is the 56 has bright trim and of course it costs more. He also has a article on installing one in a 56 should be the same for a slant cab. One of these days I'm going to install one in my 56. By the way this kit is steel.
There's a guy in our club who has one...when you first see it you know that something is "wrong with this picture" but after you figure it out it looks good. IMO
I'll look through the archives and see if I have a pic of it.
