Air Bag Installation

I have all the parts to install a new air bag including the air bags and the SRS module and clockspring. The truck is a 2000 ford ranger xls 3.0L v6. I have never done this before and was wondering if anyone could give me instructions or point me to somewhere that could help me... Thanks

I wish I could tell you for sure on the 2000 Ranger. Since I cannot I would suggest buying a tech manual that goes through the proper steps. You want to make sure the airbag system wont blow up in your face unless you get in another crash. The only proper way to do so is to consult a manual.

Usually there are just a couple bolts holding the airbag onto the wheel. Once that is off, you can pull the steering wheel, and replace your clockspring.

In case you didn't know, installing & handling an airbag is serious business. They can literally blow up if mishandled or installed wrong. You're right in looking for proper instructions. In my manual, there are at least a half-dozen sections dealing with the airbag. Sorry I can't be helpful with your model year (I have a 2004), but do be careful...
