CAN ANYONE HELP
HI, I HAVE A 56 F100 CUSTOM.
FITTED WITH FORD POWER STEERING BOX.
THE PITMAN ARM IS WORN AND NEEDS REPLACING.
IM TRYING FIND WHICH MODEL FORD THE STEERING BOX IS FROM.
THE NUMBERS ON THE BOX ARE...
1)C8AR-3580-A
2)D9AL-AA
3)3A587A

Well, I just did a little research and found this site.
Ford Part Numbers
So based on that here is what I decode from C8AR-3580-A
C = 1960's
8 = 1968
A = Ford (Generic) / Galaxie
R = Manual Transmission
3580 = 3500-3764 = Steering gear
A = Single letter indicates specific application
That might get you closer. Of course NumberDummy will be able to tell you exactly what you have.
