Need Help
So I am looking into getting a truck, and had a few questions. First off, I founds a really nice looking 199 F150 XLT for sale at the local dealer, but there are 250,000 miles on it. They are asking 3999 for it, which seems very unreasonable even though the body is very clean. The dealer said that it has been very well maintained and had quite a few new parts on it. So my question is, would this truck be worth getting. Also does anyone have any tips on what to look for in a used Ford truck because I am not very knowledgeable in trucks nor Fords. Thanks for any help/answers.

Unless its a diesel I would not pay 4,000 for it. 250 is high and it doesnt matter how many new parts are on it. If you had a vehicle with that high mileage and new brakes, fuel tank, tires, and tune-up (with fluids) do you think the dealer or anybody that didnt want to do work to it, or use it for parts would buy it for that much? Probably not. Unless its in immaculate condition and you can help it out if it needs an engine overhaul, it probably isnt a good idea.
However, If it was dealer maintained its whole entire life and they have proof, it changes the circumstances a little bit.....
