So i put 11.5 gallons in my truck of B100 today. So that makes a mix of about 8 gallons ULSD Fuel and 11.5 B100. A B60 or so. Well its colder out, and it does not want to start.... What should I put in my tank to make sure it does not gel overnight? I plan on putting an magnetic oil pan heater on my tank tonight and even going to plug my truck in ( I NEVER plug my truck in).
I hope after about two days I will have enough out of my tank to put normal fuel in it.... What kind of additives can I run to make sure it will flow and still start when I am at work where I cannot plug my truck in?
I have diesel 911 is that something I should put in my tank?
uhhh ohhhh... i don't know anything about Bio, but u won't hurt anything by throwing it a dose of diesel 911. go drive it, romp on it when you can, and get that fuel out and keep shoving ULSD in there whenever you can. i guess B100 likes to gel up??? like i said, i know nothing about bio. hahaha
You should be. What are the temps now. Last winter got down in the teens and I still got by with 50/50 and white diesel kleen. You should be ok but keep a bottle of Diesel 911 in truck just in case.
it started up just fine.... i think that additive worked well....
in fact i am feeling so adventerous, I am not going to plug it in at all tonight (will get in teens, plus lots of wind to make it feel like 0 or so) if it starts in the morning great, I can say it has not been plugged in for a while, but if it doesnt I can just take my moms car to school tommorow.
Ive ran B100 down to 25, and from what I've read B50 is good down to 10 or so. I got too adventurous with B100 and at 20 degrees it gelled up. Fuel in the bowl was ungelled at start up so I was able to make it a mile down the road before it died. I wouldnt worry about gelling with B50 or B60 unless it drops below 10

FYI, Be aware you are making it hard on your lift pump if your fuel is gelling and it could hasten a pump failure...
Its got a band new pump in it... about 3000 miles on it... but the fuel didnt gell... and it will only be run on warm times from now on... it was suppost to be about 40 degrees all week, and now it changed....

Sorry Matt, I meant thickening not necessarily gelling. I have a buddy who has been running bio for a couple years, for the first year he was running b70 - b80 in the late fall and winter, on his 3rd pump he went to 50/50 and seems to be fine now...
