I have done my high idle mod exactly to the specs in the tech files, with the switch and the relay. But if I wanted to throw a potentiometer in the mix so that I can control my idle speed, what changes would I need to make? Wouldn't it Be fairly simple? Would I need to buy all of the resistors as described in the 7.3 write-up to calibrate the top end and bottom end idle speed?
Can't vouch for it, but it looks easy enough. I think the pot is all you really need to make it work.
Yeah, I thought it said that in my write-up. I have an '03, so the potentiometer thing I read was on the '05+ write-up. I wish I could on my truck though.
But you have a 6.0, and I know it is an '03, but I'm not sure the SEIC inputs would be any different. I know they changed the strategy between the 7.3 and 6.0, within the '03 model year. Specifically the ramp up rate changed. My point being, it's more likely your '03 is like an '05, than like an '03 7.3.
I would just pull the central junction block down and see what you've got for blunt cut wires there. If you are lucky they will even be labeled so you won't have to worry about colors. If you find the two wires that should be it, then it would be simple to find a resistor somewhere in the mid-range on the chart and splice it in. Then just see if it works. If you get the CJB down and there aren't any clues as to what wire is what, then I don't know how you would proceed. Maybe buy a schematic.
Just kind of thinking out loud here, don't know if it helps.

I'll look into it, but I know there were several differences between the '03-'04 mod and the '05-'07 mod, because I helped a friend of mine do his and he's got an '06 350 King Ranch SRR. His wire colors were totally different and he had WAY MORE wires tucked up in there. Which is the '03-'04 mod most like on the '05-'07s, the BCP or the SEIC? Cause if it's like the BCP then it wouldn't have an extra wire to vary RPMs.
