Master cylinder blowing up?

Has anyone heard a pop under the hood and opened it and seen brake fluid all over the hood and against the firewall? The cap on the master is on tight and I can't see any leaks anywhere but it's like it has way too much pressure in the system or something. Just added new brake lines in the rear.........do I need to bleed the system a second time maybe?

the only thing I can think of is when a front hose blew on my truck, but after the POP, It was obvious what happened when the brake pedal droped to the floor and the right front wheel started sto smoke alittle from the brake fluid hitting the hot rotor.
But you still have a brake pedal right?

If you have a stick shift with hydrolic clutch, then I would say check that. Thoes are the only 2 systems on the vehicle that use brake fluid, are you sure thats what was spilled everywhere?

How fresh was the brake fluid that you just put in, did it come from a sealed container? Because brake fluid is supposed to be a water free fluid. If water gets in, then it will start to boil from the heat of your brakes, turn into steam and increase pressures, and it can actually "go bad" if it is left open to long, it will obsorb the moisture from the air.

Did you turn the wheel with the truck off? Sure it wasnt power steering fluid?

Hey Brett12396F150, I was thinking of that today. The fill is pointed in that exact direction and the cover is wet too. Why is it doing that? The pump does wine a little

If you steer it with engine off mine does this too- I think it's because you are forcing fluid out of the steering sector and into the pump but it's not running so it has nowhere to go but out.
