Okay, I'm tired of looking for it. The darn pigtail for the electric brake controller for our 2001 expy. We have the power distrobution box under the hood with the electric brake relays and circuit breakers and fuses. We have a transmission cooler. We have a blue wire (the ford color for the electric brake control wire) running back to a 7 way plug next to the hitch. I also have a 99 F150 so I think I know what I am looking for cause I found the pigtail in about 3 seconds on the pick up when i hooked the controller up. So why in the heck can't I find "It" on the expy. I have about 1 hour of time looking under the dash. Do I need to remove kick panels to see this darn thing. Ive given up looking for it and thought of tying into the brake pedal switch but have heard that this will goof with some sensor if not done carefully . please help. somebody said on the right hand side of the center support next to the radio. I really can't see all the way up there but I can't feel anything. I am going crazy. wheather or not I ever tow with this vehicle is irrelavent now I just want to know where the wire is. I have looked all over the towing forum and have even posted there to no avail. all expy owners help!!!!!!!1

I wish I could help but the little trailer I use has surge brakes. Maybe if you do another post in the 'towing' forum, someone there can help. sorry

 

 

Mine is cliped to the diagnostic port plug right under the middle of the dash. hope this helps out!

 

Thanks for the help. went to the dealer and looked on an expy in the lot and it was right there on the diagnostic port. never will undestand why there is only part of the towing pkg with this option. well I guess I need to break out the wire and splice kit
