I have a friend who is building a 51 F-1, he is toying with the idea of using a box from an S10. I told him that there was someone on here that was going that route but thought it was on a 53-56 model year. Does anyone recall who was doing this, I've been viewing many galleries with no success.
I believe you may be thinking of our northern brother ferguson777 Although he's using a fullsize bed if i recall.
That's who I thought of first and sent the link to his gallery to my friend but it isn't the one I remember. I do remember seeing the S10 box in someones gallery, thanks for your reply.
This is the box I'm refering to and if I remember correctly he was also adding a second hump from a 56 instrument cluster to the passenger side of his 56
I remember that pic but I don't think it was a member. I think that pic got posted once either in a stand alone thread or maybe as part of one of ferguson777's threads when he first started messing with the full sized box.
Was it fergie doing the double hump? There was another guy from the Denver area that I think did the double hump thing. I can't recall his name and haven't seem him on here in a long time. It seems like he was trying to build a 56 in a years time and he was disabled in some way as well. Man, my memory is going, maybe it was fatfenders56 doing the double hump
You know, when I first read putting a s10 box on the side (I use to own a '92 S-10, not the newer box pictured) all I could think was "Why?!" but after seeing it on that picture with the fenders... you know the side of the s-10 box really does flow very, very well with the shape of the cab... enough where I'm now toying with that idea as well (I have no box at all)... neat
I was hoping that there might be a build thread or gallery with more pictures so I could send the link to my friend. I saved that picture because I thought it was rather cool myself and my also steal the idea for a future project I have planned ( 56 pickup). The wrecking yards are starting to see more of this trucks entering thier gates.
Unfortunately that is the only picture I have of it, but did get it from this site. Hopefully the person who owns it will show up and share more pictures of all he/she has done.
Bummer... I'll let you know what I come across. The HAMB is having a field day with it, some love it others are HAMB memebers, lol.
Personally I think its about the only box that would really work, once you remove the bottom lines it doesn't look like it came off of anything. It's not square like most boxes and really does have a lot of potential with the lines. Taillights would need some modding though... and I don't think I'd ever tell anyone what it was off of! (mainly cause well, people already have a bias and don't look past that...)

I'd rid the taillights as well maybe caddy bullets or corvette style in the roll pan,who knows what a wrecking yard could throw at you,lol
