Just changed mine out with the much appreciated help of ponyboychris (Chris) help. The job was not that bad, the hardest part was getting the darn valve covers off! Come tomorrow morning I will see if it helps the cold start issue I have been having. Once again I would like to say thanks to Chris for the help and if anyone can rep him, please do! While I was in there I also re-torqued the injector hold down bolts and rocker arms.
Glad that you got them changed out. Doesn't suprise me with Chris though he is always willing to help out, even though he claims that all he does is hand out beer.
Congrats Andrew. I'll keep my eyes open for Chris.

How much do you know about the process? Tube to unscrew them. Take socket off after broke loose. Re-torque rocker arm pedestals & injector hold down bolts. Inspect and maybe shim the UVCH. Any of that make sense, or are you needing more detail?
I will back Clay and Chris on the don't use autolite and only use motercraft Glow plugs. I can speek from personal experiance my autolite's had signes of begining to melt.
All good advice from the people above. I would say with one person it can talk 5+ hours, but with two you can almost cut that time in half. Definitely get Motorcraft if you can. A small tube or good needle nose pliers help get them out. Just make sure the wires aren't rubbing on the rocker arms and are securely plugged into the new glow plugs.

I think I did hand out a couple of beers!
The whole process isn't that bad. I wish I was a little taller though. reaching in, over and around the engine compartment can be a pain. A small tube that grips the GP is a must, I had a couple of them that I had a hard time getting out because of oily fingers and tools. Like Andrew said, not a bad job but can be a pain to get the valve covers off and all the other stuff removed to get to them.
I haven't even worried about them haha.. I'm on the road at the moment in the A hole of America (Illinois).. I just got the fuel filter all drilled about mounted. But who knows.. maybe GP's this weekend.
So, Andrew. Have a better start up with the new plugs in there?
Night and Day! I wish I would have changed them last year! The truck does start faster but has and extremely smooth idle once started, so much better then what it did before. Thanks again buddy, and once you have all the pieces for your maintenance day, call me.
