Instrument Cluster Backs: 1975/79 F100/350 / 1975/91 Econoline / 1978/79 Bronco
1975/79 F100/350's, 1975/80 Econolines and 1978/79 Bronco's came with cluster backs made from a composition material that can turn to DUST before your very eyes.
In 1981, Ford came out with two replacement cluster backs made from hard plastic.
These were installed in 1981 and later Econolines. FoMoCo dealers installed 1000's in the earlier models, many under warranty.
E1PZ10848A .. Cluster Back / Use with Gauges / The last MSRP was: $47.98 / Dealer net cost was: $28.79.
Fits: 1975/91 Econoline / 1975/79 F100/350 & 1978/79 Bronco.

Fits: 1975/86 Econoline, 1975/79 F100/350 & 1978/79 Bronco.
Both these cluster backs are now obsolete.
Dennis Carpenter, located in Concord NC (704-786-8139) has 100's of each, and these are GENUINE Ford Parts, as he bought Ford's entire stock several years ago.

I had this same problem a few years ago on my 74 F350, with a 77 cab. I`m guessing the 73&74 must use a different piece, as when I tried to replace this 77 dash housing with one from my old 74 cab, the plug that goes into the printed circuit, and clips onto the housing was longer on the 77 unit. So I had to find a different housing with provisions for the longer plug.
