"starts" when starting fluid is sprayed down the carb, but thats it
hose from fuel filter back to fuel pump (on block) = dry, no smell of gas
do these things go into full failure? have i maybe lost pressure in the system?
i can pull off the fuel pump but wondering if others have some "try this first" suggestions:
funnel some gas down the fuel line toward tank?
top off / add gas at the tank?
Pull the line off the pump that goes down the frame. If no gas pours out when the line comes off, then it's lost it's prime, or you have a problem in the tank(no gas, clogged sock, etc.)
Something else to try; Get a gas can for your lawnmower or something like that and run a long hose from the pump to the gas can. Crank it a few times and it should run from the gas can.
It should have enough suction to prime itself, if you keep it running for 30sec or so by dumping gas down the carb it should pick up. A hole in a line between the tank and pump will suck air and not allow it to pump fuel. If you remove the suction line from the pump and put your finger over the port you should feel suction while cranking. Make SURE there is gas in the tank!!
