I'm using Fluid Film to see how it works out.
Its going good so far.
That is actually a perfect application for Fluid Film. This product works excellent as a vehicle undercoating. Fluid Film penetrates to the base metal, providing long term protection from the corrosive effects of salt, calcium chloride, moisture and fertilizers, resulting in a "no drip" application which will protect vehicle's undercoating from metal deterioration for a full winter season. Apply using a standard undercoating gun. Approximately 1/2 gallon will coat a regular sized SUV.
Hi guys, I'm a new user so apologies for such a late reply. Before I moved to NYC, My truck and I used to live in Buffalo. While there I used to take my truck every year b/4 winter to a place that would undercoat it with a waxy oily spray. After I moved, I couldn't find a place that would undercoat my truck, so I started doing it myself. I buy a product called rustfre Here's a website: Rusfre Undercoating & Accessories I just use the clear stuff and mix it about 50/50 with WD-40 so it penetrates all the joints and points you can't see. It takes a few weeks, but dries to the touch. If, down the road you want to rebuild the truck, to remove it thinner is all that's needed. Works great!
I bought a truck to use it like a truck, It aint no caddy or Lincoln. Its a TRUCK. a Wood hauling, daily driver. If ya want to keep it rust free put it in a garage and look at it. While yall are watchin your trucks i will be enjoying every dollar i spent on my truck. And i do have a truck that sits in a garage and i do look at it and its trophies.

Or maybe I'd like to keep my truck in good condition so I can keep it running and working it...
My truck runs great. It may not look the greatest but when a piece of wood misses the box and hits the side i dont have to worry. Thats why i have 2 Trucks my 1968 F-100 sits when it rains and snows, It is fully restored and has won best in show at the F-100 Supernationals. Two years in a row.
I have 2 vehicles, and one of them sits every winter. But that doesn't mean that I don't take care of both of them. I don't see anything wrong with rust prevention, not only does it make the vehicle look nicer, but it helps resale value and makes the vehicle easier to work on.
Ive had my show truck since Junior year of High School. I just work a lot. Right now i have 3 part time jobs.
Ha well I guess one of my main priorities isn't my truck, or having a show truck. No fun in having a truck without working it a little bit. I just like to try and keep mine in good condition so it keeps going.
My show truck has a built 390 V-8 I took the stock 360-v-8 2bbl. Bored it 30 over. 390 crank/rods, racing pistons, stage one cam, 1966 Fairlane intake. Edelbrock 4bl carb. Trust me she gets worked.
