Well boys it finally happened to me...my truck got broken into.
I was at work and at 2:20 this afternoon, my truck pages me to tell me that someone needs their *** kicked for messing with my truck. I walk downstairs, with a sharp pointed object in hand, grab security and head to my truck to catch the offender and found my driver side door lock damaged.
They didn't take anything because the alarm scared them off, they weren't expecting it. Lucky for them I didn't catch them, I really didn't want to be charged with murder anytime soon or ever. Now it's going to cost me between $300-$400 to get this fixed. That includes Jimmy Jammers...
Jimmy Jammers are $100 installed for the front, spend the money, save yourself $300, and don't end up like me....
Damn, good for them they got scared off, or they'd be dead.
I've heard nothing but good things about jimmy jammers, and how vulnerable these trucks are without them. Glad they didn't ransack the truck, but repairing the damage from some a$$ is bad enough.
I actually put my JimmiJammers on last week, they were alot easier that I had thought they would be. I have really big country ham size hands also, and it went on easily, did all four doors. Along with my Viper 791XV alarm, I hope I am covered.
Seeing as my truck is lifted, I can't park in the parking garage at work where security can keep an eye on it. So I have no choice but to park it at the scene of the crime!
SO 1 of 2 things are going to happen:
1. They'll be back and this time knowing theres an alarm, they'll move quickly to disable the siren and try to take the truck.
OR
2. They'll break in again and take whatever they can from the interior.
Regardless, I completely cleaned out my truck, removed my valuables, and anything that had my name or address on it; this way if they get her, they get her but with nothing to lead them back to my house or me. I guess I'm just waiting and hoping they won't try to steal or mess with it again...this is just torture...
Sorry to hear this. Every time I hear a story like this I think about John Travolta in Pulp Fiction -
Lance: They should be f****** killed. No trial, no jury, straight to execution.
Vincent: Boy, I wish I could've caught him doing it. I'd have given anything to catch that a****** doing it. It'd been worth him doing it just so I could've caught him doing it.
That sucks. But you're in texas, where it's legal to shoot someone attempting to break into your home. And the Excursion could be argued as your home. Damn I miss texas. Here in PA it's not even legal to shoot someone that's currently shooting you.

If I caught them in the act, there is no telling what would've happened. The term "blind rage" comes to mind....
I decided not to fix the damage as the likelyhood of it happening again are high. I could spend the money on Jimmy Jammers and I could spend the money on the door handle (painting it, having the lock set, reinstalling it). As long as I'm forced to park at the Galleria Mall, there's just no point.
Boys, learn from my mistake, this is something that will really **** you off and discourage you about working on your truck, much less modding it. Get yourself some Jimmy Jammers.
Sorry to hear that! Man that sucks, I despise thieves! I never heard of jimmy jammers until this thread, now I will add it to my list of mods planned for my X.
man that pisses me off, i got my old truck broke into and $1500 worth of crap and the air intake off the motor stolen! all well i was camping, you cant imagine how upset i was haha
i also have a 2 way alarm and i'm never out of range of my truck(if i am its at home in th garage) so hopfully i'd have time to stop anyone messing with it..hopfully.
goodluck, i hope it was just a dumb kid that got scared and wont try it again, really sucks about the door handle.
