Yet another Auto-Lock question

I know there have been several posts on how to enable/disable the auto locks. Enter unlock code, hold 7/8 push 3/4, etc... Or the Key to pos 3, press unlock 3x, key off, lock 3x.... The setting on the digital dash...

The problem is...none of them work. No horn confirmation, no change in settings.

All the fuses are fine and the locks function normally otherwise. Is there the possibility that the autolock system has been disabled by the dealer? If so is there any way for me to re-set it without a trip to the dealer and spending big $$ for their diagnosis?

Thanks for any help.

do you have the owners manual with the step by step instructions? if not go here: MOTORCRAFT PARTS FOR FORD, LINCOLN OR MERCURY VEHICLES.

A common problem people have with programming is mistaking the ignition key positions. For example OFF is not the same as LOCK. And ON is not the same as START.

Position:
1 = Accessory
2 = Lock
3 = Off
4 = On
5 = Start

Simple concept, but easy to mistake in the manual instructions.

Thanks, but that's not the issue. As I stated before, I've tried ALL the instructions in the owners manual...several times... My problem is that NONE of the procedures work.

I may as well chime in here...

I have an 08 F250SD XL and I'm also unable to get the auto-lock feature to work. I go through all the steps in the manual and get the horn confirmation, but the doors do not auto-lock. The doors have always auto-unlocked for me.

My instrument cluster only has the one button for the message center. Does that play into this?
