Already had a 4in system for thelast 6 years or so I just dualled out my exhaust and deleted the muffler. Sounds awesome. No louder from in the truck. But the turbo sound is freakin cool!!!!! Awesome backing into my garage!!!
A while back I took off the exhaust from the muffler back and replaced it with a dump elbow instead. I loved the sound it made, idling, cruising, and when you get on it hard. The biggest drawback for me was cold mornings while it warmed up- doesn't bother me, but when you are parked by neighbors or outside a hotel or whatever I can guarantee that you are waking someone up Sounds like a jet engine on takeoff.
So just get 4 in flex pipe , slide it over the 3 1/2 and clamp it ?
Sounds a little ...........redneckish.
But if it doesnt fall off every other day I guess Ill try it.
Back in the good old days I had a old 67 Mercury pickup I used to wire cans around the holes in the exhaust pipe and over the mufflers, the flex pipe made me think of it.
Dog food cans lasted longest.
There is no hanger on that??? Shouldnt one be installed?? And to install that Im assuming you have to cut the muffler out right after the welds??

Nope, no hangers. But you are taking out a muffler that I'd guess weighs 20 pounds & putting in a pipe that weighs 2-3... I cut mine out as close to the muffler as I could get it. I tried using clamps to hold everything together, but that didn't hold for long so I had to get the pipe welded in.
I just installed a 4" SS MSRP and personally I think it's a bit to loud when on it and when going down the hwy but I love the sound of the turbo, it's nice and loud, you can even hear the turbo when it's not producing any boost. Pretty sweet for sure but I need to quiet mine down a bit, not the turbo, just the exhaust noise but then again it may have something to do with the fact that it's leaning on the trannie at the moment.
