2003 Explorer intermittant no-start
I have an Explorer also thats giving me grief! 2003 Explorer 4.0 V6 75,000 miles or so. First problem (im not sure that its related to whats happening now but i figured i would add it in) heard a loud squealing noise under the hood and the car died. Popped the hood and saw that the HARMONIC BALANCER had seperated and the metal pulley portion has slid back and the belt was riding on the exposed rubber part of the dampner. Never saw somthing like that in my life. Changed the entire balancer assembly and put on a new belt. All was well untill it Died out on me and would not re start a couple days later. Did not hear fuel pump running and switched relays with the horn to see if it was the cuprit. Fired right up and when i put the old fuel pump relay in the horn socked the horn didn't work. We replaced the relay and it started right up. Everything was good. Till yesterday, would not start after sitting all night and we did not hear the pump running. Changed the fuel pump assembly and it started right up and it seemed fine. Drove it home and let it set all night. Go to start it up and it cranks but NO START! Fuel pump is running. I let it set for a couple hours and the thing fires right up! There is no cel lit up on the dash, just no start. I would say that i starts 7 out of 10 times. Any Ideas what it could be?
Thanks a million! <!-- / message --><!-- BEGIN TEMPLATE: ad_showthread_firstpost_sig --><!-- END TEMPLATE: ad_showthread_firstpost_sig --><!-- sig -->
