Stacks and a Chip

Hey, I'm looking to put stacks and a chip on my 95 f-250. First the stacks, I plan on waiting till the spring after I earn a little plowing moeny( I'm praying for snow already). I plan on putting on a flatbed that I have with them because my beds shot anyway. Also adding larger fuel tanks while I'm at it because I hate to stop when I'm driving. My questions are does it really make any difference on how big the stacks are performance wise? just looks I thought. Also I dont want to run that stupid pipe that goes across your bed because this is a work truck and putting things in the bed is kind of important to me, wondering if anyones done this and maybe has a pic or a few words of advise?? Also I want to run a new down pipe, what should I get? I'm not dumping thousands and thousands into her but I like stacks and this is my first powerstroke so gotta have them. Also about a chip I know its kind of a personal thing, but what have you guys found to work well on this generation of powerstrokes? BTW shes a 95 F-250 powerstoke supercab 5 speed 4X4 if that matters? I looked at the power hungry perfomance FU chip package liked the adjustability and also have looked at the TS 6 position chip. The only thing I reallywant out of it is more power (DUH!) and a high idle setting because it gets real cold when I'm plowing and I like to leave her running and have her warm up quicker. Thanx for your time, I appreciate the help.

well a 3 inch downpipe is all that will fit without alot of work, you can get a 4 inch in but it is alot of "customizing" 4 inch exhaust is all the performance you need, any bigger is for looks, stacks to me look best as 6 inch, but its all about opinion. php is an excellent choice, but no matter who's chip you buy you will be limited to roughly 60-70 hp increase due to our baby injectors, go to http://www.diy-injectors.com/ to get a hell of a deal on stage 1 injectors, you will see a 140 hp increase with them and the php chip and have roughly 800 dollars tied up in the truck depending on what warrenty you get with the injectors.

I have the PHP Phoenix 6 position chip, same idea as the TS Performance chip but with better programs. I have high idle, tow tunes, and performance tunes. It's a great chip! And cheaper than the TS chip.

as far as exhaust, you will have the same performance from a 4" exhaust, 4" stacks, 5" stacks.... doesn't matter. Just be sure to get a 3" downpipe also! I had 5" stacks and loved them but didn't like them taking up bed space.

As fas as the stack piping in the bed... I saw one guy that cut out the bottom of the bed where the pipe ran so it just sat on the frame below the bed. Otherwise you have to figure out how to run it under the frame and under the driveshaft and such... Major pain in the A$$ if you ask me.

Have you guys ever seen somebody possibly cut the frame for a flatbed so as able to snake the exhaust pipe right under the flatbed and then have it go out through the bed just the stacks? That is waht I was thinking of doing because like I said shes a work truck and I dont want to have to worry every time I load it. Also I am definetely planning on running heat shields on them so as I dont have to worry about that, well and I also have a transfer tank so...

i owuld not cut the frame, plus if you think about it you would be cutting a 5 inch hole in the frame which wont really leave you with much of any frame rail left

No I plan on cutting the wood rails that are under the flatbed im putting on my truck, not cutting the truck rails at all. I also was wondering about the rosewood DIY injectors, how hard is to do really? I am pretty mechanically inclined(through breaking almost everything Ive learned to fix it and also rebuilt to CJ 5 jeeps) I would like to save the money, but have never done it before.
