No, resistors in series are additive. In parallel if resistance is the same for each resistor it is halved. If more than 2 resistors in parallel the formula is;

R1+R2+R3 divided by R1XR2XR3

ok sorry still dont get it. so resistors in series add resistance??? so couldnt i just run one resistor for the two led's.

You would have to calculate twice the current. Current in parallel is additive.

so like this (14.5-4.2[two led's])/.050 [current x2] = 206 ohm

If the current for your ind. led's is .025 a each and the voltage rating of each led is 4.2 then yes.

You keep changing the game plan. You last said you were going to use one resistor with 2 led's in parallel.

Two parallel leds calls for 248 ohms. one led calls for 496 ohms.I think that one 1,000 with one led will work. If not you can always change the resistor but the calcs. would call for a 500 ohm. Main thing is resistors are cheaper than leds. Incidentally, if using two led's use a one watt resistor. Single led will be OK with a 1/2 watt resistor.
