just ordered the boost and egt gaude and the dual piller for my truck, i see lots of people also have a tranny temp gauge, i mean the truck already has a in-dash trans temp gauge so is it really necessary to have a second trans temp gauge? any thoughts or good reasons for me to order one?

If you plan on running a tuner then yes . Even with no tuner just pulling a trailer you should monitor your tranny temps. The in dash guage is completely useless. You could be at 130 degress or 230 and it wont move. High temps will kill your trans.
Adding a secondary trans temp gauge would be a good idea, the stock one's more of a dummy gauge, doesn't show you true numbers when your trans temps are climbing. Spend the money for one, its worth its weight in gold.
thanx guys. well i think ill go back and order one then, how do you install the guage to the tranny, i am already aware that i need to drill the manifold for the egt and the boost is simple but never looked into the tranny gauge at all?

thanx for all the info guys, really like this site, i ordered the autometer gauges,GS ones. i just bought the truck so learning alot about it, i just did the ccv mod, havent built a oil trap yet, the truck came with a hyperteck stage 3 power programmer in it already, donno how good it is but the truck seems to go alright and decided gauges were a good idea before i save a spend my money on a better tuner. i like the truck its got a straight pipe and the only thing i hate is when the exhaust valve behind the turbo closes when its cold, dam it sounds so bad like somethings grinding and omg it doesnt sound good but as soon as i hit the gas or brake it opens again and things are normal. it almost sounded like it was some what closed when i was driving to work early the other morning, im not sure if its supposed to do that when your driving at all, either way i dont like it lol. thanx for the info guys
thats called the ebpv -exhaust back pressure valve- you can delete that with a non ebpv turbo pedestal and it will also eliminate one more area for an oil leak to pop up. cant go wrong with the ebpv delete. you could also just gut your stock one....
If you tow, buy the aftermarket tranny gauge. Even if you don't it's a great investment to keep an eye on things. I can help you out with a CCV trap if you like.
well im not sure if i want to get rid of that ebpv if it helps things warm up, im from canada, where im from it gets cold but not rediculus like the north but cold enough for things to take awhile to heat up, so if you get rid of that would it be such a good idea, are the only benefits of getting rid of it the less chance of a oil leak and the loud noise? and yes some ideas for a oil trap would be appreciated alot, ive drove the truck maybe 150 km since the ccv mod and havent check if there is oil out of the vent at all, i routed it all the way to the spare tire. im stoked for the gauges though im curious to see what the truck boost pressures are like.
