Excursion ROOF/Luggage Rack Question
Guys, can someone help me with the following.
The measurements of the current factory roof rack or attachment points on the Excursion?
How BIG can a Roof rack be to still use the standard attachment points and
Who makes the biggest roof racks that can be put on an excursion?
I plan on putting more lights in front.
Also, are there others that make really sturdy grill guards/bumpers other than Alien Patrol and Road Armor?

Are you talking about the factory rack or aftermarket racks or they all do it?
No solution to this? I wanted it for the looks and to be able to put more headlights on top. I really don't plan on traveling. I have too many dogs for that

As for the front bumper option, check out Iron Bull... both Scott4444 and I have one and are very happy with the product and the service.
Beware of Alien Patrol, lots of people have been burned... Google Alien Patrol and check out the various forums where they have been to hock their wares. Not a lot of satisfied customers.

Just the cross beam units with the ends. The side beams are mounted to holes in the roof. not good to remove them if you don't want water in the truck. They are also what aftermarket racks attach to.

It is the factory racks that rub off the paint as they lay directly on the roof

Thanks guys. The Defender and Thule stuff I had seen but the other stuff was new to me. How come all racks are 5' when there's room for a 6' rack? At least I think there is.
Also, is the rubbing problem solved if you put one of these racks on?
I don't understand why everyone making these sturdy brush guards never make provisions to put lights up front that are PROTECTED by the guard. Look at this for instance. They make provisions for lights but they are IN FRONT of the bumper. Not cool if you hit something
