Huck and i were doing some investigating this afternoon for some upcoming mods to the green machine. We needed to know what my PCM code was, so we pulled the PCM out wrote down the code and put the PCM back in. We stood around shooting the breeze for a lil while. When i got in my truck to leave i noticed my CD player was off (unusual) so i turned it back on, and found out that all my presets were gone and my clock had been reset. Has anyone ever heard of this happening before?
I called huck and he said he had his out several times recently and never had that happen before, not really a big deal just mainly a PIH.
Was it just defaulted or were the memories actually gone? When my batteries are out, they memories are there, but the radio defaults to 87.5 MHz (or something like that). If I push a memory button, they are intact.
All of his presets were gone as well as the time. I didn't get a chance to catch back up with Ray tonight. I had to do a brake job on an OBS. He said that the other day, he was driving and the lights on his isspro's went out, but the factory gauge cluster remained lit. I don't know if the two are related, but it looks like we've got a gremlin hunt on our hands.

I had my factory radio completely out when I took the dash off to remove the instrument cluster. Presets were still intact as you said after pushing the first memory preset button upon installation. I was surprised. Had to reset clock though.

Ray, this could be a total long shot question. What type of batteries do you have?

Oh yeah, you're right. The clock needs set on mine too. I wonder if we're talking about different radios here. Mine has the cassette & CD player. Do you have the same one, Roland? Sounds like he has the one with just a CD player. I wonder if these hold memories and CD player only ones don't...
I have the stock tape/player CD player radio. If I unhook both batteries I lose all station presets for the FM radio...not sure about the clock because my display is broken and only illuminates when it feels like it. LOL!

Mine is the am-fm with cassette only. I have a multi disc auxillary CD player behind the rear seat.
I was supposed to catch up with Ray this afternoon. I was running later than I thought and I haven't been able to get a hold of him. He called me last night and said that he looked at the amplifier boxes for his isspros. He said that the boxes were taped together, and starting to come apart. That could be the reason for the gauge lights, but I still want to do some checking. Diane, I can't remember what batteries he has. What's your thoughts?
Sorry its been a long day.
Diane,
I have 2 8month old Duralast Golds with no problems from either of them (as of yet). Radio is a Pioneer CD player maybe 2 years old i think.
Ok so after grabbing a bite to eat for supper with our spouses Huck and I(actually huck did i just watched) started trying to chase down the lectrical gremlin for the gauge lights. It only took him about 5 minutes to find the problem, a loose connection, however it still leaves the other portion of the equation unanswered, the presets on the radio.
Huck and I will be pulling the PCM again pretty soon, so i'll make sure and document everything with pictures this time.
