Blower motor question

I have a 6/90 F150 4X4, 5.0, auto with A/C. The blower motor works only on the low setting, barely blows. I disconnected the coupler at the blower motor and direct wired it to the battery and the motor works fine. It works fine on low setting only when connected.

I have read that if it works in the high setting while connected, the resistor is the faulty part, but would the same hold true if the condition is reversed?

Where is the resistor located on this vehicle?

Do you think it is more the fault of switch or resistor?

I appreciate your assistance with this.

switch is fine, replace the resister. unplug the wires going into the heater box. remove the 2 screws that hold on the place where the wires plugged in. remove that piece. that's the resister. get a new one, and put it back together.

Dead on the money. It was the resistor. Cost was about $21, time to replace less than 5 minutes.

Thanks alot for all the input.
