wow!! lotsa work in that one. that's cool though. going to the monster trucks this weekend?? i've got to work or else i'd be there. i haven't got to do much of anything to my 79 f100 and i'm not sure even what i want to do with it yet but for right now it's my daily driver till i get my 85 put back together... well, i hope you enjoy FTE!
I am south of ya in Rotan. If there is a get together in Lubbock let me know I have a '59 I am restoring so I would love to cruise up there to hang out. Plus it is going to be a worktruck for my computer shop so let me know if anyone needs upgrades and I will bring goodies. Sorry shameless plug
I spent a number of years out there at Tech, moved to Paris, TX just over a year ago.
My fiancee still lives in Lubbock though until she graduates next May.
hueybryan, i need upgrades on both my laptop and my desktop but as of yet, we tried to get some panhandle action last year and only a couple cld ever get anywhere.. i started a mailing list for this area so we cld do some better planning but we never got anything really together ... keep an eye open though uhm,.. if you want to be added to that mailing list for a panhandle get together if we ever get one going, then email me thru the fte email thing with the address you wld want to get a msg at and i'll add you to the list i've got.
I found a show in Amarillo by some antique truck club .. I'm trying to get more information but so far as yet all I know is its in Amarillo September 4th and 5th and theres no email addy to get more info so apparently i'm going to have to call this guy to find out ..
scroll down till you get the sept 4th and 5th and youll see it under amarillo. that's all the information i have. i lucked into it from a parts magazine website that you can't mention the name of here on fte so i wont mention it now that i know. ;-) maybe we can get something together then!
I'm from Lamesa(60 miles south). But I just got married (Aug. 1st) and moved to Lubbock. My wife goes to LCU and works at JC Pennies in the mall and I am looking for work in the electrical field. I drive a 1997 F-250 Heavy Duty Crew Cab short bed. crome grill gard, stainless smoke stacks coming shortly. truck is two tone blue and white with white in the middle. it is the only one of this color i have every seen. really stands out.
Im up for a get together in our area. i would love the chance to get to see some other great ford trucks!!!
i can't swear i wld even be able to make the drive at 10 mpg right at the beginning of the month but if we get enough people that wanna go, i'll do my best to get up there. we just need to figure out where and when etc.. i didn't have a chance to call that guy today to get the info .. i havent gotten to walmart to buy a phone card yet ... anyone else up for a little drive?
ill gladdy drive to amarillo for the show. i have room for a couple of people from lubbock to ride with me if they wanted to go and couldnt make it by themselves. the get together would really be fun and give me a chance to get away for a few days.
just got an email from the organization that's hosting it or whatever and they don't have any information except the location 1220 S Polk St in Amarillo. ive emailed a friend who lives in canyon that's going to call the guy local for me cuz i still haven't gotten anymore time on my card. it's coming down to oil change, phone card mins.. hmm.. i wonder.... :-) if and when i find out anything else, i'll post it.
i enjoyed it a lot. just a little to much of that liquid grain and a little imaturity didnt mix well. glad ive out grown that part of my life!!! (but i would trade the memories for anything)haha
i've been thru tulia a coupla times. spent the night in the hotel behind that big truck stop once. if you know anyone parting a 79 truck or an 85 truck i need stuff for both. my uncle used to have a falcon, i'll talk to him.
