Veterans Day

Please remember that today is Veterans Day...take the time to thank a veteran for their service to our country. Without them...we wouldn't have the freedoms that we have today!!!

I started yesterday by taking my father out to lunch...he served on the USS MASSEY towards the end of WWII.

I am retired Air Force myself, but feel that I NEED to thank all the REAL veterans who have and still do put themselves in harms way for our GREAT NATION!! I know my service to our country was important, but I am TRULY humbled by others, who's life's were on the line in their career. My heart goes out to those who have fallen, and my hat is off to ALL of you, and I proudly stand and salute your service!!
Now get over to your local Applebees and scarf up some of the free grub for me, I'm stuck working all night and sleeping the day away!! HOO RAH

Very well said.

I have about 25 years of total service (Active, Guard, Reserve) in three different branches and there are kids over in Iraq and A-stan who have seen more in a week than I have in all my time. But, I've done everything that was asked of me, volunteered for extra stuff and have been ready and willing to go do more.

So, to everyone who has served, I salute you all.....

To all my fellow veterans let’s not forget our fallen comrades. Politicians can give out phony platitudes and try to kiss up to us but only a veteran knows the true sacrifice that we made for our country., our family’s and our friends. The old adage "We sleep soundly in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm." Attributed to Churchill or Orwell take your pick has never been truer then at this moment in history. God Bless the US and the Men and Woman past and present who put themselves between us and the violence of the world.

Its unfortunate that so many have sacrificed so much over the last decades to see it all going to hell because of the politicians now in office.(Both Parties, this is not aimed at any one side or the other). We can only hope that God has a plan and it will bear good fruit.
